New Client Questions

Curious about getting started with our dog poop scooping services? Check out the tips below!

Do I need to keep my dog out of the yard during my cleanup service?

This depends on the dog! While we love each and every dog equally, we ask that you ensure that pups who may have a reactive or territorial response to visitors to their yard be contained during our visit. We love meeting friendly dogs—it's our favourite job perk!—but for the safety of ourselves and your canine companion, we will not enter a yard with a stressed or aggressive dog. We reserve the right to use our best judgement in these instances. If you would like to arrange a meet and greet between the Poop Troop team and your pup before your first pick up, please indicate this on your booking.

Should I unlock my gate?

Poop troopers will not jump a fence or bypass a locked gate. Please make arrangements for access to your property—either by unlocking gates, providing us with keys or codes as needed, or being available to open gates upon our arrival. We will ensure that your gate is closed and latched (or locked!) upon our departure.

Do I need to be present during a service?

There's no need to be present during the service as long as you've taken steps to ensure that the yard is accessible and dogs are contained if necessary. We understand that you might want to know who is coming and going on your property— if you would like to arrange to meet your poop trooper before the service, please indicate this on your booking.

How will I be charged for my service?

Recurring services are invoiced on a monthly basis at the start of each month. For one-time services we will send you an invoice upon service completion. Payment can be made online using a credit or debit card.

How does the subscription service work?

Subscription services bill monthly on the 2nd of the month. To keep things simple for everyone, we consider every month to have 4 weeks regardless of how the dates fall. This means that your monthly bill is at a fixed rate, even if some months you might end up with 5 pickups rather than 4 on the weekly plan, or 3 pickups on the biweekly plan. The extra pickup in this instance will always be free.

What is the Initial Cleanup Surcharge? Isn't my first cleanup free?

Yes, your first cleanup is FREE when you sign up for our subscription cleanup services. However, subscription cleanup pricing assumes that the yard has been regularly maintained. If there is more than 1-2 weeks' worth of waste accumulated in the yard, please book a major cleanup service with us before your weekly cleanups begin, so that we can come prepared! If there are significant accumulations of waste in the yard when we arrive for the first subscription cleanup, we will pause work and contact you to discuss options and additional charges before proceeding. This surcharge will never be applied to your invoice without prior discussion.

What if I go on vacation? Can I skip my pickup?

Absolutely! Please let us know if you will be out of town and wish to skip a pick up. In this instance, the value of the skipped pick up will be applied to your next month's invoice. Please note that we require a minimum of 48 hours notice for skipped pick ups, otherwise the full service charge will be applied.

I forgot to put my bucket out for pick up! Will I still be charged?

Yes, the standard pick up fee will still apply. A fresh bucket will be left for you regardless, and we will pick up both buckets at your next service. If you will be out of town or otherwise unable to put your bucket out for pick up, please contact us to arrange a skipped pick up. Skipped pick ups are subject to our cancellation policy.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require a minimum of 48 hours notice for cancellations. Cancellations made within 48 hours (2 business days) of your service day will be subject to the full service rate. For monthly subscriptions, we ask that you cancel or change your service before receiving your invoice at the beginning of the month.
